The story that began on ice

The Ziętara Hockey School is a project based on the true history of Polish hockey.
Its beginnings are inextricably linked with Walenty ‘Walek’ Ziętara, one of the most outstanding forwards in the history of Polish ice hockey, a long-time representative of the country, captain of the national team and Olympian.
His career coincided with the golden age of post-war hockey in Poland, when the national team fought on equal terms with the best teams in the world. Walenty Ziętara was a complete player – valued for his intelligence on the pitch, effectiveness, character and winning mentality.
He represented Poland 178 times, took part in the Olympic Games in Sapporo and Innsbruck, competed in eleven world championships, won the Polish championship and for years was the driving force behind Podhale Nowy Targ.
His approach to sport, based on consistency, responsibility and respect for work, has become a valuable legacy that did not end with his last match.

Continuation that set the direction
In 2011, Piotr Ziętara, Walenty's son, consciously and wholeheartedly continued this story. From the outset, his goal was to create a modern hockey school that draws on family experience, but at the same time responds to the real needs of today's players.
Piotr actively participates in the daily life of the school, supports the operation of the camps and is responsible for their strategic development.
Under his leadership, the Ziętara Hockey School began to consistently introduce modern training methods, such as Power Skating – an advanced skating technique – and mental training, which helps players cope with stress and pressure and build sporting confidence.
Piotr personally oversees the organisation of the camps, ensuring their quality, structure and suitability for the age and level of the participants. Each project is developed with the long-term progress of the players in mind, rather than just short-term results.

People who care about quality every day
Krzysztof Zborowski, a former outstanding goalkeeper and long-time representative of Poland, is responsible for the day-to-day running of the camps.
As camp manager, he oversees every organisational aspect: from logistics and schedules to the smooth running of training sessions and the comfort of participants. His experience gained on the ice and in coaching allows him to maintain high standards of training and organisation.
Krzysztof Zborowski is also an expert and mentor to goalkeepers, who can learn from someone who knows the realities of playing at the highest level during the camps. Thanks to his commitment, each camp functions as a well-planned process in which players can fully focus on training and development.

One philosophy, one direction

The Ziętara Hockey School combines Polish hockey legends, a modern approach to training, and the experience of people who have been involved in the sport for years. It is a place where young players learn not only technique and tactics, but also the right approach to work, competition, and personal development.
We are not a one-season project. We are building an environment that has a real impact on the future of young hockey players – based on values, experience and consistency.
Because the best stories in hockey do not end with the final buzzer. They continue on the ice for generations to come.

Ziętara Hockey School is more than just training sessions and camps.
It is a continuity of generations, where the experience of Polish hockey legends meets a modern approach to training and professional organisation. It is a place built on real achievements, genuine know-how and the daily work of people who know hockey from the inside out – as players, coaches and managers.
Our goal is not a temporary effect, but the long-term development of players – both athletic and mental. We want every participant in our camps to leave them better, more confident, and richer in experiences that will stay with them for years to come. We believe that the best results are achieved when passion meets system, and history meets modernity.
If you are looking for a place where hockey is taken seriously and young players are guided with their future in mind, you have come to the right place.
